About Us

The Alter Jazz Ensemble is a pioneering music project that fuses traditional Jewish prayer and song with jazz music, melding together disparate worlds to create a unique musical offering. The project is an initiative of American-born and Australian-based hipster/hassid Rabbi Noam Sendor and produced by renowned Australian composer Adam Starr.

The ensemble recently returned from their third international tour, having performed in the US in December of 2016 and 2015,  also having toured the UK in 2014 in support of the launch of their debut album 'New Altar'.
